About

I am a former member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I intend to use this blog for a two-fold purpose.

First, I actually want to dig a little bit deeper into Mormon Doctrine.

I have come to see, since leaving the church many years ago, that many of the things that I was taught to believe are now considered false doctrine by most, if not all, members of the church. Many of the things spoken by past Prophets and Apostles of the church, including Church founder Joseph Smith, Jr, are now labeled by both members and current leaders as speculative, unofficial, and/or just plain wrong.  So it seems that I might have some learning of my own to do in order to properly understand what today’s Latter-day Saints believe in order to address it properly.

Secondly, I’d like to contrast Mormon Doctrine with Biblical Doctrine to see just how well (or not) it measures up.

And when I say Biblical Doctrine, I want it to be known that I am not speaking of Traditional Christian Doctrine. My personal perspective on what the Bible teaches differs from both Mormon Doctrine (in almost all ways) and from Traditional Christian Doctrine (in at least a few ways).

I look forward to learning and growing and I invite feedback. Please keep it civil/respectful.
